Lancia Delta 1.9 Mjet vs Mazda 3 2.2 MZR-CD

The compact cars still achieve the highest sales in Europe. Under these conditions, manufacturers are constantly improving their flagship models
but are often cautious, as the group is important in sales volume. Volkswagen Golf accepts his past 35 years, a Renault Megane 3 extremely well featured, and Peugeot did not risk leaving 308 without a break from the 307. but some brands offer products full of originality: the case of with Lancia Delta and Mazda with its new "3". We faced the most powerful diesel versions of each.

Charm vs sport

From aesthetic point of view, almost everything between the Lancia and Mazda. The Japanese poster of taut lines, sports, heirs of the concept cars broken down by brand salon to salon. The old Mazda 3 was pretty timid in his style, while the new generation displays without complex design rather aggressive and very successful - witness the many positive comments and questions during our test. Still uncommon, the Mazda is a real surprise, anything but subtle is bdeliciously provocative in these times of repression road. Side skirts, spoilers prominent, large wheels shod with Toyo Proxes, exhaust suggestive, there is no indication that one is dealing with a diesel.

In contrast, the Delta is also the map of originality, but in a very different register: it's simple lines are unlike anything known, the elegant chrome grille to the roof line which joins the tailgate in a whole new stern. Wildly original and elegant, the Delta does not leave indifferent you love or hate, but aesthetes will find their account in a car that is unashamedly on the register of luxury, even flirting with the higher category.
